Four
talented basketball players from New York City
rented a minivan and began a journey to North
Carolina, to take part in a basketball talent
showcase for major college recruiters. Yet,
their journey to fulfill their dreams was suddenly
interrupted when the minivan was pulled over
by two New Jersey State Troopers, on the New
Jersey Turnpike. That night, their lives would
be forever changed, as the unprovoked troopers
fired 13 bullets into the minivan, severely
wounding the unarmed passengers inside.
4CHOSEN
- The Documentary details
the shocking and horrifying events of April
23, 1998, when the nation became familiar with
the term ‘racial profiling’. Featuring
intense news footage, this documentary also
includes gripping interviews with family and
friends, and of course these four brave men:
Danny Reyes, Jarmaine Grant, Keshon Moore, and
Rayshawn Brown.
Aided
by attorney David Ironmen, the boys fought for
their lives, and then fought to blow the lid
off of law enforcement’s ‘dirty
little secret’ about the tolerated practice
of racial profiling. Eventually, this story
gained national prominence, involving recognizable
people such as Johnnie Cochran, Al Sharpton,
and Christie Todd Whitman. This courageous tale
of survival, determination, and perseverance,
which inspired the feature
film 4CHOSEN,
is now revealed in 4CHOSEN
- The Documentary.
